[Fix] Google chrome updates are disabled by the administrator

Google Chrome is the most popular web browser which offers various features. It push automatic updates to keep users safe and browser bug free. Today, while checking the browser’s about page, I found a notification saying “Updates are disabled by the administrator.” This was preventing automatic updates of my browser. I found the similar problem posted by various users in forums. So, I started searching the possible solution.
In this post, I am going to show the fix for this problem.

Open the registry editor. For this, click on start and type regedit on the search box to open registry editor.
Now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesGoogleUpdate
Here, In the right side double click on UpdateDefault and change the value 0 to 1.
Now close the registry editor and you will the issue fixed. Now open the about page of Chrome again and Google Chrome will start automatic updates.
