Facebook is now rolling out the dark mode for Messenger. The feature is now available for most of the Messenger users but hidden. So, it is not easy to find it in options. If you want to try Messenger’s dark mode but not sure how to do it, here is the tutorial for that.
In this article, I will tell you how to activate the hidden dark mode in messenger.
Darkmode is available to users on both iOS and Android devices. But you need a trick to enable it. It the coming weeks, the settings will be available in the settings menu. But you need to use this trick for now to get that settings option for enabling the dark mode.

Activate the Hidden Dark Mode in Messenger
Moon Emoji is the thing you need. Open Facebook messenger and then open any conversation. Now send the moon emoji. If you see the moon emojis raining down in the thread, you are lucky to get the dark mode. You will now see a popup at the top of the screen stating “You Found Dark Mode!” Tap this popup to turn the feature on.
Then it will send you to profile settings page where you can enable the dark mode by using the Dark Mode toggle.
This is the hidden option that you need to enable by using the moon emoji trick. When this option is available to all users, users can simply come to the settings menu and enable the dark mode by using the Dark Mode toggle.
If this trick doesn’t work for you, close the app and then open it again. Then open the conversation where you sent the emoji and double tap on the moon emoji you sent.
If you still fail to get the feature, you need to wait for a few days. The feature has not yet reached to your profile.
Dark Mode is helpful to access the app in the night as it doesn’t put a strain in eyes. In devices with AMOLED display, it also saves some battery juice and improve the battery backup.
