Although it still misses the Pro mode, there are many useful features. In this article, I will also talk about one of the most notable camera features of the iPhone. While recording a video, you can also capture photos. So, you don’t need to stop recording for capturing a photo. You can keep recording video and capturing photos at the same time. Capture photo while recording video on iPhone

Open the camera app, go to video mode and start video recording. You will see a shutter icon at the top right corner of the camera app.

Tap on this shutter icon while the recording is still on. It will capture the photo and save it to Photos. You can capture as many photos as you want without stopping the video recording.

This option is helpful but it also has a drawback. Photos you capture while recording a video aren’t of the same quality as regular photos. I compared the resolution of the photos. In regular photo mode, iPhone captures photos of 4032 x 3024 pixels. Photo resolution drops to 3840 x 2160 pixels if you capture photos while recording a video. It further drops top 1280 × 720 pixels if you capture photos while shooting a slo-mo video.
