also lets you change user agent. So, you can change browser’s user agent without any third party extension. But you may ask why one would need this? This is helpful when a website only allow access to a specific browser. For example Apple which only allow users with latest Safari browsers to watch streaming of Apple events online. If you do not have Safari, you can change the user agent of your browser to safari’s user agent and get access to that website.
Every browser has a specific user agent which helps websites to identify browser. By using the User-agent, website decides what content to show. If the user-agent is of a mobile browser, it will redirect to mobile site. If certain browser was restricted, you wouldn’t see any thing. It is also very helpful for web developers. Step 1: Select Menu button in the top right corner, then select Tools. Here select Developer tools. It will open developer tools at the bottom of the browser.
Step 2: Now open the settings by clicking on the gear icon at the bottom right side.
Step 3: Select the User Agent select box and select the user-agent from the dropdown below the User Agent select box.
You can select User-agent available in the dropbox. If user-agent which you want to use is not available, you can select ‘other’ and then specify user-agent string in the text box next to dropdown. But you will find most of the user-agent in the dropdown.
