Snapchat users have been using a 3D avatar for a long time. But not many people know that Instagram also has a similar option. You can make an avatar on Instagram and use it. In this article, I will explain how you can create and use an avatar on Instagram.
Meta, the parent company of Instagram, added Avatars in Messenger back in 2019. Now the company has introduced the same to Instagram. You can customize the avatar by selecting face shape, skin tone, hairstyle, lip color, and more. You can also select the outfits of your avatar.

How to create Instagram Avatar
Open the Instagram app and visit your profile. On the profile page, tap the hamburger menu at the top right corner. Then select Settings and go to Account. On Account’s page, tap Avatar.
Now you will be taken to the avatar page where you can start customizing your Instagram avatar. It will let you select your face, skin tone, hairstyle, hair color, outfits, and more things to customize your avatar.
Once you are done, save changes.
There are different ways to use an Instagram avatar You can add Avatar stickers to Stories or send them to your friends using DM.
How to use Instagram Avatar to Story
You can use your own avatar in Instagram Stories. While creating a story, tap the Stickers icon. Then select Avatar and select the avatar style you want to add to Instagram Story.

How to send Instagram Avatar in DM
You can also send Instagram Avatar to your friends in DM. On the DM page, you can tap the stickers icon, select the avatar, and tap the avatar your want to send in the DM.

If your Instagram and Facebook accounts are connected, you can also share Instagram Avatar stickers on Facebook and Messenger. Otherwise, you will have to manage two separate avatars on Facebook and Instagram.
