Steps to Make one on one video call
For making video calls on Instagram, you need to open the app and tap on direct message option at the top right side of the screen. Now select the conversation with the person whom you want to make video call. In conversation window, you will see an icon to make video call at top side of the screen. Tap on that icon and it will start ringing on the other side.
When you are on video call, you will see an PIP icon at the top left side of the screen. tapping on it will minimize the video call. So, you can browse feed, send DM to other people or do anything on the app while being on video call.
Steps to Make group video call
Unlike WhatsApp, you do not have any option to add a person on one to one call. For making a group video call, you need to first make a group conversation. It is also worth to note that you can only have group video call with up to 4 people. So open the DM screen and tap on + icon start a new conversation. Here, add up to 3 people and start a group conversation of 4 people including you.
Now tap on video call icon at the top right side of the screen. It will start a group video call. wait for all people to join the video call before they start appearing on your call.
