How to quickly set Timer in iPhone

If you regularly use timer function, you need to learn how to do it quickly. Most people open Clock app and go to Timer section for activating a timer. It also doesn’t take much time, but searching for Clock app may take a few seconds. You can save a few seconds if know the quicker way.

Add Timer to Control Center

If you regularly use the Timer function, you can add it to Control Centre. In place of searching for the Clock app, just open the Control Centre for Timer.

First, open Control Centre and if it has Timer. See the snapshot below to understand how TImer Icon looks in Control Center.

If you can’t see the Timer icon, you need to add Timer to Control Centre. Open Settings app, tap Control Centre, and look for Timer. Then click on the + icon in front of it for adding Timer to the Control Centre.

After this, you will now see the Timer icon in the Control Center. Tapping on it will quickly open the Timer where you can set the timer. But you can long tap on the Timer icon to quickly set the timer of desired time. You can set the timer from 1 minute to 2 hours. There are 12 predefined timer options to choose from. After selecting the time, tap Start.

Once you are comfortable with Timer option using Control Panel, it will be quicker than opening Clock app and visiting TImer section for the timer.

Use Siri

Even if I have a Timer in Control Centre, I personally find Siri the fastest way to set a timer. Just say “Hey Siri, set the timer for 1 minute.” And Siri will do start the timer and will give you an audio confirmation.

To cancel the timer, say “Hey Siri, Cancel my timer.”

Now you know two different ways to set the timer in your iPhone. Both these ways are quicker than using the Clock app. I personally use Siri to set or cancel my timer. It not just saves time, but I also not need to touch my phone. It helps a lot while I set a timer for different workouts during the fitness sessions.
