How to Remove Your Number From TrueCaller – TrueCaller Unlist

I wrote an article on tracing a phone number and search the owner of the number. That post was about a called id app Trucaller. TrueCaller can identify most of the phone numbers. If you are using TrueCaller and receive a call from a number not saved in your contact list, TrueCaller will most probably tell you who is calling.

How TrueCaller Works?

TrueCaller is a mobile app and is available on all popular mobile platforms. When people install the Truecaller app in their smartphones, it grabs all address book from the phone and puts it in the Truecaller database. If you have saved a number by contact name “Friend”, it will identify the number as Friend. Millions of TrueCaller users have given their address book to the company and it uses the data for offering called id. Any one can search forr a number to know the name of the person using the phone.

The app works fine in most of the regions but it also raises privacy issues.

How to remove a number from TrueCaller Database?

If you have made an account on TrueCaller, you need to deactivate your account first. Follow these steps:

• On Android: Tap on the 3 stripe menu -> settings -> privacy center.
• On iPhone: Tap on the profile avatar (upper left) – > settings -> privacy center.

The company will remove your number within 24 hours.

If you have never made an account on TrueCaller and you want to remove your number from TrueCaller, you can request from the company directly from a form. Just visit this page and scroll down to the end of the page. Here you will see a form.

After submitting this form, your number will be removed from TrueCaller database within few days.
