How to restrict author to contribute only in specific category in WordPress

If you are running a multi-author blog, I am sure you people have divided your work based on categories. This is how most of the multi-author blog runs. On Techlomedia, I hired a person only to write about gadgets launch and other person only to write about mobile apps. This makes sense and prevent conflict from writing the same kind of articles. You can enhance this process by allowing the author to restrict only to a specific category. In this way, the author will not see any category selection section in post editor. by default, the article will go in the allowed category. In this article, I will explain how to achieve this kind of arrangement in your WordPress blog.
Restrict author to contribute only in specific category in WordPress
First install Restrict Author Posting plugin and activate it in your blog. Now, go to Users -> All Users. Now click on the edit link in-front of the user whom you want to restrict to a specific category. On user’s profile page, scroll down to see Restrict Author Post to a category section. Here, you will see a dropdown to select the category.
Now when the specific author will open the post editor, he/she will be shown a warning. There will be no option to select category.
If you want to remove the restriction, you need to follow the same process but select “No Restrict” in category drop down in user’s profile page.
