How to stop videos from auto-playing on Facebook

Facebook now autoplay videos on your timeline if just hover video on desktop and automatically on mobile apps. Social networks focus on video auto-play because it is good for advertisers. But it irritates users. Good thing is that there is always an option to disable this. If you want to disable video autoplay, you can do this from settings. In this post, I am writing how to stop video autoplay on Facebook.
How to stop videos from auto-playing on Facebook
1. Stop autoplay on Facebook website
Step 1: Go to Facebook account’s settings page and find video option the left side menu. This is the last option in left side menu.
Step 2: In the videos section, you will see options to set video quality and autoplay.
Step 3: In Auto-Play videos option, set it to default
You are done.
2. Stop Facebook autoplay on Facebook iOS App
In iOS, you will find this option in settings. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to Settings and then Account settings.
Step 2: Tap on ‘Videos and Photos’ option.
Step 3: Now select ‘Auto-play’ option here.
Step 4: Turn it off by selecting ‘Never Auto-play Videos’.
2. Stop Facebook autoplay on Facebook Android App
Step 1: Go to settings and select app settings.
Step 2: In App settings, tap on ‘Videos play automatically” option.
Step 3: Turn it off.
