How to Uninstall Programs or Applications on Mac
Follow these steps to uninstall programs or applications on Mac.
Step 1: Open Finder Window. If you are not sure, see the snapshot below. Arrow is pointing to the icon of Finder Window. Click on this icon to open the Finder Window.
Step 2: Now navigate to Applications section. In Applications section, find the application which you want to uninstall and right click on this.
Step 3: To uninstall, select ‘Move to Trash’ option. You can also drag that icon to trash to perform the same operation. Once you empty trash, everything will be out of your system. Alternatively, you can also drag that application icon to the trash to uninstall.
Step 4: You are done with uninstalling the application from your Mac.
It is worth to mention that this process is only useful if you are trying to uninstall third-party applications in Mac. You cannot use these steps to uninstall system applications which come with Mac OSX.
Applications that don’t appear in Finder
Now you know how to uninstall applications on Mac. But what about applications which do not appear in Finder. These will not show in Applications section. You also do not have the control panel like thing in Mac to see the list of installed programs.
For these kinds of things, you can find different guides. You can search for “uninstall [program name] mac”. Few applications for Mac also provide different uninstallers. So, you will have to download uninstallers to uninstall those applications from your Mac system.
