How to Use Google Duo on Windows or Mac PC

Google Duo is Google’s video calling app available for Android and iOS devices. Now several Android devices come with Duo pre-installed. Google wants people to start using Duo for video calling and also boasts several features of it. If you are one of those who spends most of the time on your Laptop and prefers videos calls from laptops as well, you may not be comfortable with Duo. The duo is not available for desktop. So, Skype or Google Hangout are few options.

But what if you want Duo on your Windows laptop? You can use Duo on PC with a trick. It doesn’t matter if you or Windows or Mac system, you can do that. It will even work with Linux system.

You only need these two things to use Google Duo on PC

  • Android Emulator: If you are not sure what Android Emulator to use, you can go with Bluestacks or Nox.
  • Duo APK (Download Here)

Android Emulator is the software that creates a virtual machine on your system to run the Android apps. I already wrote how to run Android Apps on Mac.

Android Emulators allow you to install apps from Play Store or APK. As you already have the link to APK, you can install it from that. In this article, I am using Bluestacks on Mac to show the step.

Now double click on the app icon to run the Duo. It will ask you to create the account on Duo by adding the phone number.

It will also send you a verification code on your phone number. Once you have verified your phone, you are ready to enjoy Duo video calls on your desktop or laptop.

Now you know how to use Google Duo from the desktop. This trick works same on Windows or Mac systems. You can use any Android Emulator for running Duo on your desktop. It is worth to note that Emulators are generally heavy software and consumes resources of your system. If your system is not powerful enough, you may face lag issues.
