How to Lock a Netflix Profile With a PIN

Netflix lets you make profiles depending on your subscription. Each profile gets a personalized feed based on watch history. If someone accesses your Netflix profile, he can check what content you watched and can understand what kind of content you watch. If you are sharing NETFLIX account with friends, family or kids by making multiple profiles, anyone can switch profile to use your profile anytime. To avoid this, Netflix has finally added an option to add a PIN to Netflix profiles. If you have kids using your NETFLIX account, you can add PIN to your profile where you also see adult content.

Lock a Netflix Profile With a PIN

If you want to learn how to add profile lock on Netflix, here are the steps to add PIN Protection to a Netflix Profile.

Sign into your Netflix account on a web browser. You cannot access account settings from the Netflix app on your phone or TV. Now click on your profile photo located at the upper right corner and then choose Account.

Now scroll down to the “Profile & Parental Controls” section and select the profile on which you want to add Profile Lock. Here you will see the option “Profile Lock.” Click on Change in front of it to add the profile lock.

It will then ask you to enter the account password before you edit the Profile lock.

Then you will see the option to enable Profile Lock. Click on Check box and it will ask you to enter the 4 digit Profile Lock PIN.

Enter a 4 digit Netflix profile PIN. If you want, you can also activate “Require PIN to add new profiles.” This will prevent other profile users from creating new profiles on your Netflix account.

When you are done, click on Save.

Now each time someone tries to select the locked Netflix profile, it will ask you to enter the profile lock PIN before allowing access.

Netflix profile PIN is just to prevent other users using the same account from accessing your profile. It doesn’t add any security layer to your Netflix account. Each profile on Netflix can add its own PIN. This feature is really useful for NETFLIX accounts where more than one people are accessing different profiles. This is also helpful as a parental control tool.
