How to watch Instagram stories on desktop web

Update: Now Instagram has officially started showing Stories officially. So, there is no need to install any extension or tool for viewing stories on desktop. You can simply login in your Instagram account on browser and check stories of people you follow.

Facebook-owned Instagram launched Stories feature to boost the engagement and got success with it. While stories is a part of Instagram, the company has not made it available on the desktop web. You can only see your Instagram feed but not the Stories. Stories are only available via Instagram’s app. What if you want to see it on the desktop web without waiting for official release? There is a way.

Instagram Stories can be seen on the desktop web but only on Chrome browser. Google Chrome extension Chrome IG Story is a free tool to check Instagram stories from the browser.

Install this browser extension and it will add an icon to your browser’s toolbar. This icon option has nothing worth to talk. Soon after the installation, you will be able to see the stories on the desktop above your Instagram feed.

To check the stories, click on their icons and use the left and right arrow icons to jump between each.
